Our Story

Lawnbrook Estate, better known as The Packing Shed at Lawnbrook, is a beautiful 10 acre property located in the heart of the Bickley Valley which was established in 1896 by ACR Loaring (formerly of Margaret River). The land was originally developed as an orchard for citrus fruit due to the high subsoil water supply and over the years, was also used to farm daffodils and strawberries.
Lawnbrook was eventually divided up into smaller acreage and the citrus trees were removed and replaced with just over an acre of grapevines in the mid1980s.

Our Wine

Our little vineyard provides us with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Semillon grapes which are used for our wines.
We produce approximately 3500 bottles per year from our vineyard and where we can, we source fruit from within the Perth Hills Wine Region to expand on our range beyond this.
Our wines are produced locally by winemaker Matt Bowness using Estate Grown, hand-picked fruit.
Due to the size of our vintage, our wines are generally only available from our cellar door on weekends or via our online store. Occasionally our wines are available through local retailers and restaurants.

We are a part of the Bickley Valley Wine trail and offer Wine Tastings for tour groups by appointment only.  Please contact us for information on our packages.

Our Coffee

We’re pretty fussy when it comes to coffee…We use the best beans from Bolt Coffee Roasters which are roasted right here in WA.  Our baristas are constantly measuring and testing the brews to ensure that we have a consistent result every pour.

We love our leaf tea and have a large range of options from black teas, green teas and herbal teas.  And for those who love an alternative to the caffeine based drinks, we love using Simara for our Turmeric or Beetroot lattes or delicious, rich Hot Chocolates.

Besides the dairy based milks, we also offer Bonsoy Soy Milk and Milklab Almond Milk as alternatives.

Our Venue

Our 10 acre property sits in the Heart of the Bickley Valley.  Throughout the year, the Valley puts on quite the show of colour whether it’s the changing leaves in Autumn or the blossoms in the Spring.  The Summer evenings bring the stunning marshmallow skies and in Winter, we get the pot belly going and keep everyone warm while the hills are misty and cool.

Our lunch menu is regularly updated and offers a variety of light, country style meals.  Our food and wine can be enjoyed at our outdoor seated area in the warmer months, or inside by the wood heater in the cooler months.  Alternatively, grab one of our picnic blankets and enjoy the vast lawn area.

The biggest event in the region’s calendar is the Bickley Harvest Festival which is held on the first weekend of May.  This is when we celebrate the end of Harvest with wine tastings and sales, live music, food and other activities.

We also hold regular Sundowners on Friday evenings throughout Summer with live musicians and a casual, family friendly atmosphere.
